"The rules of what?" Tira said confused. "The rules of The Triumph!" The fly shouted. The rules are very simple. Everyone has to kill each other to escape this country. Every, single, one of you has to kill in order to survive this game. No one was pleased with that rule. Everyone complained and panicked, no one and not a single soul wanted to kill for this insidious game. The second rule, everyone will turn into their previously played game character, human limited. "Human limited?" Someone asked. We only want the best man to come out of this game, not the best dragon, animal, or ant. That rule kinda made sense, but why would they need a single man for themselves? Everyone is very displeased with this game, but a few people got excited. And of course they're not very nice to be with. Everyone panicked. Those who were excited just a moment ago are worried about the last game character they played as, moreover the ones who didn't play games for a long time. Some are relieved that their character is dependable and others think they're doomed. But it's not about what character you get, it's about what you would do to survive with this character. You're going to turn into your last played game character but your mind will stay the same as always. Meaning that if you don't have the courage to survive and fight, your character will be useless. For Tira, it's the worst situation for him. He is a lazy shut-in weeb and he played as a cute girl last night because he thought she was just cute. He shouldn't have done that. Not only would he turn into her, but also change genders entirely. It's now all up to his skills. Suddenly, others began to suddenly change into their characters. Chess pieces, military soldiers, how to cook chefs, anime characters, and a whole lot more are transforming. Tira is in a panic. If he doesn't do anything about this he is gonna be a girl for the whole game, and who knows how long this game will last. He ran away from the crowd and into the woods, the fly was left behind. He ran and ran and ran until he fell from exhaustion. On the ground, he looks up into the skies and wonders why this is all happening. All of his life, he left as if he was missing something. When he was a kid he was an extreme introvert and that didn't change since. When he turned 18 he failed the entrance exam into university which made his parents abandon him. They had enough of him. He never had an ambition in life and a job to follow, only a role in a convenience store as a cashier. And that was long gone. He was living off generous offerings from his neighbor and odd online jobs. His current job was a translator of some manga, but he lied he could translate and used a translator instead for the sake of money. Wasn't really living the best life. The fly that was with him finally caught up with him. But before the fly could continue to announce the rules, it saw Tira crying on the ground. The fly stayed where it was until it approached him. It lies beside Tira. "The sky is beautiful isn't it? Unlike me." Tira said. The fly isn't in the position to respond but it tries to cheer Tira up by trying to cuddle with him. "You stink." That didn't disturb the fly though. After that exhausting morning, Tira drifted into sleep. When he woke up, he found himself completely alone in the dark woods. He initially panicked, thinking that if someone found him sleeping, it would be an easy kill. But he was alone with the fly. He petted the fly and stood up to look around for awhile. Everything was in ruins, the city of Shinjuku he saw earlier this morning was now nothing but a quiet warzone. It seems that the participants have calmed down and slept for the night. It's odd since war wouldn't stop even for a night. But it's quiet. Tira decided to explore the ruins and found his room. Still oddly intact, he wanted to see it for the last time. Seeing this room still normal felt like it still wanted Tira. Remembering the first time he bought this room. His boss at his job was a generous guy and offered Tira a room in a cheap apartment to live in until he got enough money to support himself. But Tira still had to pay half the price because the boss isn't super rich to give away a whole room. That was the only time Tira ever felt like he was wanted by someone. The boss wanted him to work at his poor little store even though Tira wasn't anything special, in the case of Tira's perspective. But the boss saw something in Tira that he saw worth being with him. "You have amazing courage." Is what he only remembered what the boss said. That happened 3 years ago. The boss had to leave due to family issues and a new strict and furious boss took over. The new boss didn't like him at all. Losing the comfort he once had before, Tira ended up slacking off work. Resulting in losing his job. Tira still remembered. Still remembered those words from him. He picked up a small piece of metal, a piece of his phone. Putting it in him pocket, as a remembrance of this place. This room holds so many memories. Unreplacable ones. The fly has finally caught up with Tira again. Furious the fly, it tries to scold Tira but sees him reminiscing about the times. But it won't let the feelings get it. "Oy! Where have you been!?" The fly shouted. "Just remembering." Tira responded in monotone. "You know the game has already started? Look at yourself." The fly said. Tira became embarrassed. This isn't the time to remember the past when you're in a life and death situation. But the fly said to look at himself. He looked at his hands, their oddly petite with long slender fingers. It can't be. Tira ran towards the nearest reflection. Tira finally became the last character he played as. A female character. Tira is not very happy about this. He looked at his figure, definitely female. He lost his masculinity. The fly caught up with him one more time, tired of his sudden running. Tira looked at the fly in lost. It didn't respond. But it began to explain his character. Yami Kanami, a female Martial artist and parkour enthusiast, age 25, has good physical abilities. Though if Tira didn't know how to do what Yami can, wouldn't it be useless? Tira curls himself into a ball and decides to sleep through the whole night. The fly disagreed because Tira could be killed. He didn't care if at least he could escape from this body. Tira drifted to sleep, the fly couldn't do anything. The next day, he... Or rather she wakes up in an abandoned building. Confused, she explores the place and finds a note lying around. Try not to kill yourself. P.S. Another player. She felt embarrassed once again. How many times did she feel embarrassed by others? She sat down in fury. Deciding not to do anything today too. The fly finally woke up and advised her to take the game seriously. Tira won't agree. The fly gave up and sat beside her. It was kind of peaceful besides the loud noise and sudden rumbles from the war outside, it was a place you could sleep in. Until another player barged in and smiled at her. "You look like a nice first victim."
